Under a Comanche Moon
So intimidating was Comanche cruelty, almost all raids by Indians were blamed on them. Texans, Mexicans and other Indians living in the region all developed a particular dread of the full moon as the Comanche were able to travel greater distances into Texas and Mexico under it’s light. Still known as a ‘Comanche Moon’ in some parts of the Southwest as a time when they came for your cattle, horses, women and children.
